Es Pontàs, on the southeast coast of Mallorca within the municipality of Santanyí, is an enclave defined by one of the Mediterranean’s most iconic rock formations: a natural stone arch emerging directly from the sea, creating a recognisable and almost sculptural silhouette along the coastline. From the water, the site appears as a vertical and isolated presence, where the landscape takes complete precedence over any human intervention.
Anchoring nearby takes place in open, crystal-clear waters, where the rocky seabed and the transparency of the sea create a highly visual swimming and snorkelling experience. It is not a sheltered cove nor a destination for prolonged stays, but rather a point of observation and pause within a route along the southeast coast, where the landscape entirely defines the experience. Es Pontàs is perceived more as a natural landmark than a destination itself — a geological icon that captures the power and purity of Mallorca’s coastline.
